- Fluoxetine is an anti-depressant medicine used to treat:
- Depression
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Bulimia Nervosa (eating disorder)
Method Of Administration Of Flozak 20 Mg Capsules
- Take this medicine by mouth.
- Swallow the drug whole with a drink of water. Do not chew it.
- Take before a meal or with a meal
- If you feel the effect of your medicine is too weak or too strong, do not change the dose yourself, but ask your doctor.
- It may take up to 2 weeks to show the result
- The amount of the drug you take will depend on your illness. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
- This medicine is intended for adults over 18 years of age.
- Your doctor might prescribe it to children aged 8 years and older if necessary for depression.
- For depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, the usual starting dose is 20 mg once daily.
- Your doctor may gradually increase the dose up to 60 mg daily.
- For bulimia nervosa, the recommended dose is 60 mg once daily.
- In children aged 8 years and older, the initial dose is 10 mg once daily. Your doctor may gradually increase the dose up to 20 mg daily.
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
